More about me
I’ve worked in the service industry for over ten years. Getting my start as a hostess at my small town’s local Italian restaurant, I went on to gain experience in every role a bar has to offer—server, barback, bartender, manager (even dishwasher, in a pinch).
As is the case with many, I defaulted into this career. It began as a way to make money while in school, but when I moved to Chicago in 2021, I had to ask myself: what is it about this industry that makes it so impossible for me to step away, when it was only ever meant to be a “job,” never a career?
Here’s the truth:
The Joy
The Community
The Creation
The drinks are the set dressing; they’re part of the play and creation that allow us to connect to each other. But nothing beats the people next to you.
Having a career in bartending has required me to work hard, long hours while maintaining a spirit of community and creativity. It’s a feat; but it’s fulfilling.
From coworkers, to regulars, to friends I have guilted into visiting me on slow days and consuming experimental cocktails, the people have always been the best part of the job. Bars are our meeting house; the spaces where we talk without thinking and get to know each other better (with the help of booze to ease the vulnerability of socializing).
I started this freelancing business to bring the beauty of bars home to you and your closest friends. Let’s all have fun together.
